Suitcasing & Outboarding Policy

What is Suitcasing & Outboarding?
“Suitcasing” and “Outboarding” are unethical parasitic business practices in which companies or individuals attempt to gain access to conference attendees. Both are serious conference faux pas we hope everyone will avoid.
IEBA depends on our registered Attendees, Agents Alley Exhibitors and Sponsors for a successful conference. In order to defend their investment in IEBA’s annual conferences, we have established a policy that identifies and discourages suitcasing and outboarding.
-
Examples Include:
1) Not registering for conference but hanging out in the host hotel lobby to network with IEBA conference attendees
2) Hosting a party and inviting attendees to leave IEBA conference programming to visit their event
3) Unauthorized distribution of marketing materials, promo items, business cards and/or rosters at host properties during conference and/or via email
4) Misuse of Conference Attendee Lists or Membership Directory. By receiving any list or directory, you agree to abide by IEBA’s Privacy Policy found HERE, along with email marketing laws in your jurisdiction. If you use a list or directory for marketing purposes, you must include an opt-out option. Please use all lists and directories wisely.
