Entertainment Coordinator, Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo

Christy Bowen is the Entertainment Coordinator for the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo in Austin, Texas.  She is responsible for booking and overseeing all fairgrounds performances including the rodeo arena concerts, free outdoor stage, the 100X Club highlighting Texas talent and the various free attractions on the fairgrounds.  The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo is a 16 day event held in March where more than 300,000 visitors enjoy a ProRodeo, Livestock Show, concerts and carnival.
In the off season, Bowen oversees the event production of the largest black tie Gala in Austin. 3,000 guests are treated to a four course dinner, silent auction shopping for luxury items and entertainment from two of Nashville’s hottest stars. Entertainers she was worked with include Josh Turner, Randy Travis, Clint Black, Sara Evans, Kellie Pickler, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Jesse McCartney, Akon and more. Prior to Rodeo Austin, Bowen was a television producer for WHDH-TV in Boston, MA.
