Jim Morey to Deliver Opening Keynote at 40th Annual IEBA Conference

The International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) will host its 40th anniversary conference October 3rd-5th. Legendary entertainment manager and promoter, Jim Morey, will deliver the opening keynote speech on Monday, October 4th to an audience of over 500 of the industry’s top entertainment buyers, promoters, agents and managers at the 40th annual IEBA conference at the Hilton Downtown Nashville.

“Jim is not only legendary for his accomplishments over the past 40 years, he’s still showing the industry how to reinvent itself with tremendous success. IEBA is honored to have him share his expertise with our attendees,” states Tiffany Davis, IEBA executive director.
 
Nebraska native Jim Morey graduated from the University of Nebraska, Kearney in 1966. In 1965, he was the Student Body President. He was active in many student activities and a member of Mortar Board. He became a member of the university faculty, as an instructor of music education.
 
In the early 1970s, Mr. Morey was instrumental in developing and promoting big name entertainment on college campuses throughout America. This was during the height of the Vietnam War and major colleges and universities were looking for entertaining ways to deal with campus unrest. Mr. Morey is known as a pioneer of the college entertainment explosion that took place at that time.
 
Mr. Morey and his former partner Sandy Gallin, developed a successful personal management company in the 1980’s, Gallin Morey & Associates. Morey and Gallin headed the career management of such artists as Michael Jackson, Neil Diamond, America, Mariah Carey, Dolly Parton, Clint Black, Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, Joan Rivers, The Osmond Family, The Pointer Sisters, Mac Davis, Luther Vandross and numerous others.
 
Mr. Morey is one of the music industry’s foremost experts on concert touring and has broken box office records around the world with acts such as Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and HIStory Tours, Mariah Carey’s Butterfly World Tour, numerous Neil Diamond tours and the record breaking Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus tours.
 
In 1999, Mr. Morey formed a new company, Morey Management Group, of which he is the Chairman.  
 
In 2007, Morey Management Group joined forces with veteran manager Irving Azoff and partnered under the umbrella of Front Line Management, now part of Live Nation Entertainment. Morey Management Group continues to represent many prominent artists.
